Responsibilities Work as a Critical Care Float RN in an academic Level 1 Trauma Center Float among multiple adult ICU settings including Neuro ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, Burn ICU, and Trauma Surgery units as well as IMC, progressive, and general care units if needed Night shift, 8 or 12 hour shifts, 19 : 00 - 07 : 30, with every other weekend and some holidays required Travelers are first to float and may be scheduled in multiple units or locations per staffing needs Uses Epic EMR with previous experience required Adult patient population Must pass a telemetry competency exam prior to clearing for start, with strict criteria and up to two attempts allowed before remediation is required Travelers participate in a one week orientation, with schedules provided in the welcome letter Expected to work in a Magnet® designated hospital and academic environment supporting shared governance Travelers must be flexible with floating and may be re-assigned pending unit needs to complete contract Some units welcome first-time travelers Holiday rotations and RTO (time off) are reviewed and approved case by case, generally limited to two weeks per contract Scrub or dress code and parking details to be provided upon assignment Requirements Active WI or compact RN license in hand at consideration Current BLS and ACLS certifications through American Heart Association Minimum two years of acute care ICU RN experience within the last three years Previous experience in multiple ICU specialties and adult populations Must have previous experience in an academic Level 1 Trauma Center Successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment Tele / arrhythmia experience required with ability to pass telemetry exam prior to start Epic EMR experience required Permanent address must be at least 50 miles away from the facility Locals within 50 miles are not accepted Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-609761.
