Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Summary

Utilizing the nursing process in the perioperative environment incorporating assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. The RN works in an interdisciplinary approach with anesthesiologists, surgeons, peri-op nurses, anesthesia technicians, surgical technicians, SPD staff, clinical engineering, residents, medical students, etc. The perioperative nurse adheres to AORN, SCIP, and National Patient Safety Goals, JCAHO, and other regulatory standards. The perioperative nurse is knowledgeable in aseptic technique and has experience in circulating as well as scrubbing practices.

The periop nurse working in the ASC must have experience and knowledge in working in an ambulatory surgery environment. The OR nurse will work at all UCSF locations and ambulatory surgery sites.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $84.78 - $109.85 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications

• Minimum two years of OR experience working in a dedicated ambulatory surgery environment within the past five years.
• Experience in multi-surgical specialties.
• Two years minimum OR circulating nurse experience within the past five years.
• This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
• Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
