Job Description & Requirements Specialty : PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline : RN Start Date : 11 / 17 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, nights Employment Type : Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced Cardiac PCU RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring a compact or MO RN license and recent teaching hospital experience. Responsibilities Work in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) specializing in cardiac care at a tertiary teaching hospital Patient ratios typically 1 : 5, with rare flex to 1 : 6 Night shifts, 3x12 hours (18 : 45 – 07 : 15) Floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed Care includes post-cardiac surgery, pre / post cardiac catheterization, post-MI, and pre / post hemodialysis management Utilizes EPIC EMR; experience required Weekend requirement : 8 shifts per 6-week schedule, combination of Friday / Saturday / Sunday Responsibilities include cardiac and stepdown patient monitoring, emergency response, and management of post-cardiac surgical patients May be assigned charge RN responsibilities and holiday shifts as needed Must be open to floating between units or facilities as required No local candidates accepted; must live at least 75 miles from the facility Time off requests limited to a maximum of 7 days Comprehensive drug screening required prior to start Completion of pre-assignment and orientation modules required No travel partners accepted for this assignment Free parking available on site First-time travelers accepted Requirements Active MO or compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration At least 2 years of recent specialty PCU / telemetry experience with cardiac focus, including a full year in the specialty within the past 12 months Teaching hospital experience required Current BLS and ACLS certifications required Strong skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, post-cardiac and renal care, IV therapy, and emergency response Ability to perform procedures such as feeding tube care, central and peripheral line management, and tracheostomy management Proficiency working with EPIC EMR References : Two required from the past year, including one from a supervisor or above Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-623023.
