Under the general supervision of the Airport Director, the purpose of this position is to oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of McKinney National Airport (TKI). This individual will work to ensure accordance and compliance with all federal, state and local directives, policies, procedures, and plans, while allocating resources and managing the ongoing inspections, maintenance, and technical support activities required to ensure that operations and facilities are maintained in a safe, efficient and effective manner.

Essential duties and responsibilities include managing the Airport Maintenance and Operations departments, overseeing airport self-inspection programs, recruiting and selecting airport employees, overseeing airport security and emergency plans, managing airport operations and maintenance budgets, maintaining operational policies, overseeing airport development and construction projects, coordinating employee training, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, reviewing payroll, communicating with stakeholders, administering the TxDOT Aviation Routine Airport Maintenance Program (RAMP) grant, overseeing Notice to Air Missions (NOTAMs), serving as airport liaison for ARFF and law enforcement, interpreting FAA directives, mentoring and developing staff, providing performance evaluations, monitoring the Noise Complaint Hotline, building relationships with airport tenants and stakeholders, assisting with special projects, and performing routine inspections.
Other job functions include performing other duties as assigned or directed.

Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in Airport Management, Business Administration, Public Administration or closely related field, supplemented by five (5) years previous experience in a leadership position within airport operations and maintenance. Preferred qualifications include Certified Member (C.M.) designation through The American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE). Conditions of employment include passing a drug screen and background check, and having a Class C Texas Driver's License.
Physical demands include exerting heavy physical effort, climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and lifting, carrying, pushing, and / or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-50 pounds). Work environment may risk exposure to extreme heat / cold, wildlife, traffic hazards, exposure to chemicals, or extreme weather conditions.
