Corporate Counsel - Autonomous Vehicle Company

Cutting-edge autonomous tech company seeks a sharp, tech-savvy Corporate Counsel to provide strategic legal support across a fast-moving, innovative environment. Role includes drafting and negotiating commercial and employment contracts, advising on regulatory compliance and data privacy, and partnering with engineering, product, and HR teams on legal matters impacting AV, robotics, and AI development.

  • Based in Austin HQ, ideal candidate available fully on-site

  • Collaborative, mission-driven legal team embedded across departments
  • No business development required – internal partnerships only
  • Base salary and bonus package, direct access to GC. Salary is flexible for the right candidate
  • This role would be the #2 hire on the legal team.
  • Long-term growth into senior legal leadership possible

Requirements :

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active bar license in good standing
  • 2–5 years of in-house legal experience, ideally in tech, AV, AI, or robotics
  • Contract drafting / negotiation, privacy, and compliance experience
  • Ability to advise cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment

    • Preferred :

  • Experience with autonomous vehicles, robotics, or AI
  • Familiarity with global data privacy and cybersecurity laws
  • Background in IP licensing and / or international employment law
