As a Maintenance Specialist, you will provide support across the agency’s service areas in regard to the property, vehicle, and infrastructure operations with a focus on administrative tasks, data analysis, and reporting. You will help ensure that property management systems are run efficiently, records are securely stored, and staff are receiving the training and resources needed to follow established maintenance procedures. Your work will be key in helping leadership make informed decisions, maintain compliance, and keep facilities and vehicles safe, functional, and welcoming.

Systems is currently looking to hire a Maintenance Specialist to support all of our services areas in Eastern Iowa.

Key Responsibilities

As a Maintenance Specialist, you will be tasked with doing the following duties :

  • Performing routine inspections and coordinating preventive maintenance to keep facilities safe, clean, and compliant
  • Scheduling vehicle servicing, maintaining registrations and insurance, and monitoring telematic reports to flag utilization concerns for supervisor follow-up
  • Coordinating vehicle and property repairs with approved vendors
  • Running and analyzing reports, maintaining accurate expense and maintenance records, and ensuring compliance with safety and licensing standards
  • Tracking and distributing up-to-date inventories of agency assets across departments
  • Managing secure record storage, retrieval, and proper disposal of sensitive documents
  • Providing training to staff on procedures, reporting tools, and safety practices
  • Preparing and sending tenant leases and tracking move-ins, move-outs, and other related maintenance needs
  • Demonstrating strong communication, accountability, and organizational skills

Requirements

Must hold a valid driver’s license, and maintain a driving record that is acceptable from a risk management perspective. You will also be expected to support at work sites, which may involve the following physical demands :

  • Climbing stairs, checking under furniture, standing, walking, and other physical activity
  • Lifting or carrying objects up to 50 lbs
  • Performing visual, manual, communicative, and analytical tasks in a team setting
  • Prior experience overseeing vehicle and / or property maintenance preferred but not required. The perfect candidate should be organized, able to work independently, and be able to clearly communicate with vendors, tenants and co-workers.
