This position is responsible for operating the yard dog in a safe and appropriate manner shuttling trailers between dock doors and trailer storage areas. At the same time, will work as a team member to perform duties related to loading, unloading, and transporting finished goods and in-process products to and from warehouse and production line. Utilize SAP and operate inventory recording equipment. Will be trained to cover for warehouse lead and materials coordinator in their absence.
Reports to : This position is an hourly position reporting to the Logistics Manager.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure that department and Owens Corning safety rules are being communicated and followed, including PPE usage and loading practices.Know plant EPA goals or requirements and insures goals are met on a daily basis.Maintain a general housekeeping schedule in accordance with plant standard 5S protocol with responsibilities to ensure cleaning throughout the shift; maintain a safe work environmentPerforms exercises to avoid accidents and prevent injuriesMaintain a clean and orderly work area by ensuring that floors and vehicles are clean and organized appropriatelyComplete a forklift inspection at the beginning of each shift and turn in paperwork to warehouse office when neededMaintains, inspects, operates, and moves trailers and mobile mover in a safe manner avoiding damage to both trailers and propertyUnload any returns that come back to the plant and ensure Warehouse or Team Lead receives paperworkInspect trailers and complete trailer inspection sheets for every loadClean and sweep trailers as needed to ensure product is not damaged when loaded for shipping or in transitConsolidate like material as neededResponsible for pulling / preparing customer orders with 100% accuracy for quantity and type of productPerforms picking duties in an efficient and safe manner that meets or exceeds customer service standardsResponsible / accountable for the safe operation of a forklift for the purposes of moving, locating, relocating, stacking and inventorying of materialMove all material to the HOLD / REWORK area as needed and place all material needing to be re-wrapped in the WRAP areaUse of SAP as neededReports any problems or short comings to appropriate personnelPerforms other tasks and duties within scope as necessary and in agreement with the leadParticipate in shift huddles and meetings as requiredOther activities as may be assigned in order to maintain production requirements of the department or plant. Work assignments will be made at the discretion of managementJOB REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent is requiredMust be 18 years or olderMust be a US citizen or have the right to work in the USEXPERIENCE :
Prior experience with operating heavy equipment or yard dog requiredMinimum of two (2) years related experience and / or training in an industrial / manufacturing environment highly preferred.Two- year Associates degree in technical related field highly preferredKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES :
