About The Position

Position Summary

The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) provides safe, effective, and patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with professional standards, hospital policies, and regulatory requirements. The RRT will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for diverse patient populations, while collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver direct respiratory care including patient assessments, therapeutic interventions, and monitoring of respiratory conditions.

Administer and manage oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, mechanical ventilation, and airway management.

Perform diagnostic procedures such as arterial blood gas sampling and analysis.

Accurately document all assessments, treatments, and patient responses in the EMR system.

Educate patients and families on respiratory health, treatment plans, equipment use, and discharge care.

Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to coordinate comprehensive care.

Uphold infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory compliance at all times.

Maintain professional standards of respiratory care practice and participate in ongoing development and training.

Job Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience : Minimum 2+ years of RRT experience required; prior travel experience preferred.

Licensure : Active and unrestricted Michigan RRT license at time of submission.

Certifications : BLS (AHA) – Required

ACLS (AHA) – Required

NRP – Required
