The Employee Benefits Specialist / Associate Account Manager / CSR works in conjunction with Benefits Account Managers and Agents to complete insurance related employee benefits service work for mutual groups of clients. After an initial training period in our Westminster, Colorado office, we offer a hybrid remote work model.

You may enjoy this position is you have ever work as an employee benefits specialist, and employee benefits account manager, an insurance specialist, in an insurance support role, have experience with employee benefits management, or have your life and health license.

Primary Duties :

  • Promote and uphold the Company Core Values
  • Provide Support to Account Manager and Agents / Producers
  • Prepares quotes for clients on proposed benefits solutions
  • Assist in building out enrollment platform within EASE / HRIS for client groups
  • Provide support to prospective and current clients
  • Work with carriers to gather appropriate documentation for distribution and retention
  • Assist with open enrollment and renewing policies
  • Following agency guidelines for updating Agency Management System (Epic) and Benefits Administration Software (EASE)
  • Tasks associated with Primary Duties :

    Promote and uphold the Company Core Values

  • Become familiar with agency Core Values, Core Focus, Target Market, Our Three Uniques, Proven Process, and Guarantee
  • Incorporate company culture with all clients and co-workers
  • Upon request, assist with developing process and procedures for agency operations
  • Upon request, assist with training new hires or existing team members
  • Provide Support to Account Manager and Agents / Producers

  • Send documents received via mail to clients
  • Other items as assigned by Account Managers
  • Manage all eligibility changes in Ease such as open enrollment, enrollments, terms, changes (address updates, name changes, Qualifying Events, and other updates)
  • Open Enrollment Support - working with AM to process employee elections, audit invoices, and assisting with employee questions.
  • Send Payroll Deductions report from Ease each month for eligibility changes
  • Benefits enrollment assistance for client groups

  • Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the enrollment platform for employer has accurate eligibility information
  • Performs quality checks on benefits related data
  • Assists employer regarding system related errors
  • Check the quality and accuracy of benefits related to employee data and ensure the database is regularly updated
  • Provide support to prospective and current clients

  • Assist employer with their day-to-day benefit inquiries
  • Complete ID card requests
  • Answer eligibility questions
  • Work with carriers to gather appropriate documentation for distribution and retention

  • Ensure carrier contact list is maintained and up to date
  • Process adds and terms with carriers
  • Ensure renewals from carriers are entered into Epic
  • Assist with open enrollment and renewing policies

  • Working with Account Manager to process employee elections, audit invoices, and assisting with employee questions
  • Following agency guidelines for updating Agency Management System (Epic), Benefits Administration Software (EASE), and Benefits Comparison Tool (Applied Benefits Designer)

  • Download and save group plan summaries and rates from carrier files or portals
  • Renew plans in Agency Management System (Epic)
  • Manage all eligibility changes in Ease such as open enrollment, enrollments, terms, changes (address updates, name changes, qualifying events, and other updates)
  • Create proposals in Applied Benefits Designer
  • Performance Expectations :

  • Efficient and accurate documentation in EPIC
  • Follow established agency process and procedures
  • Follow customer service standards as per agency guidelines
  • Keep up to date on activities and tasks in Epic and Ease – no more than 5 past due activities at any given time
  • Fulfill state(s) continuing education requirement and keep insurance license current
  • Ensure that a backup team member is trained and in place to handle daily tasks
  • Additional skills, qualifications, education and / or experience required for success at our agency :

  • Colorado Life and Health Insurance License (preferred)
  • 1-3 years of employee benefits insurance experience
  • Fast learner with acute attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong computer software skills (Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe)
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Anticipates well and effectively manages time
  • Familiarity with paperless office concept
  • A positive and professional attitude
  • Collaborates with others in teams. Promotes cooperation and shared successes throughout the company
  • Shares ideas for improvement
  • Clear and accurate communicator with verbal and written communication
  • Displays an eagerness to learn and grow professionally
  • High School Diploma / GED (required)
  • Experience with EASE, Applied Epic and Applied Benefits Designer a plus
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus
  • Please note, background checks are conducted on all new hires to include education and licenses, as well as criminal, financial and work history.

    Salary Range : $50,000-$55,000 Annual Starting Salary

  • Conexus offers medical, dental, vision, STD, and LTD after a waiting period. The company contributes 100% towards the employee's monthly premium (employee only, base plan) for the aforementioned insurance programs.

  • 401(k ) : Conexus currently offers a 401(k) plan in which you are eligible to participate after one year of service.
  • Paid Time Off
  • Each employee begins with 15 days per calendar year (the year begins on the date of employee's date of hire) which will be accrued on a semi-monthly basis. Eligible PTO days granted increase over the course of the employee's years of service.

  • Our agency observes and is closed on most federal holidays. Each employee is also allotted one Floating Holiday per year.

  • Bonus Opportunity
  • Contingent upon role and agency and employee performance after one year of employment.

  • Paid Quarterly Volunteer Days

  • Personal Paid Volunteer Time : Conexus encourages employees to become involved in their communities, lending their voluntary support to programs that positively impact the quality of life within these communities. Employees may take up to 16 hours of paid time off each calendar year to participate in their chosen volunteer program.
