SALARY : $38,120 - $51,183

SCHEDULE : M-F

9 : 00AM - 5 : 00PM (Full Time)

POSITION

OVERVIEW :

TRADE Transportation is Mercer County's paratransit

service, committed to providing safe, reliable, and accessible non-emergency

transportation for eligible residents, including older adults (60+) and

individuals with disabilities. The Radio Dispatcher plays a critical role in

coordinating daily operations and ensuring the smooth, efficient flow of

communications between drivers, passengers, and administrative personnel.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

Operate radios and telephone systems to dispatch

transportation vehicles.

Receive, document, and relay information and requests

from passengers and drivers.

Maintain detailed records of calls and daily

activities.

Ensure compliance with Federal Communications

Commission (FCC) rules.

Perform administrative and clerical duties, such as

filing, data entry, and record maintenance.

Respond to inquiries regarding scheduling, safety, and

transportation procedures.

Support emergency and safety communications when

needed.

Monitor video surveillance and report potential safety

concerns.

May interact with law enforcement databases or public

safety systems as required.

REQUIREMENTS :

Six (6) months of experience in radio dispatching or

operation of radio / telephone equipment.

OR

A valid Commercial Radio Operator Permit / License

issued by the FCC.

KNOWLEDGE,

SKILLS, ABILITIES :

  • Knowledge of FCC rules for radio systems.

Ability to remain calm and decisive in high-pressure

or emergency situations.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with telephone, radio, and data systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and recordkeeping.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in

    English.

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English strongly preferred.
