Associate Network Engineer OR Network Engineer - Specified Term - Network Engineering Services

Overview

Information Technology Services at the University of Iowa intends to hire either an Associate Network Engineer (PIN1) or a Network Engineer (PIN2) based on the qualifications of the successful candidate. This position will have a 2-year project assignment and is classified as a "specified term appointment" with full fringe benefits.

This is a 100% onsite position with interviews held in person in Iowa City. A valid US driver's license and the ability to meet the University of Iowa's fleet safety requirements are required. This role is not eligible for University sponsorship for employment authorization.

For Both Levels

This position requires occasional off-hours work and will participate in a team after-hours on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Associate Network Engineer : Contribute to network operations, communicate project technology needs, and assist with the implementation and ongoing management of campus-wide communication technologies to ensure high service quality and integrity.
• Network Engineer : Contribute to network architecture, communicate project technology needs, and assist with the implementation and ongoing management of campus-wide communication technologies to ensure high service quality and integrity.
• Participate in partnerships with academic and administrative units.
• Work individually as well as in a team environment in a highly collaborative manner with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Provide communication technologies service delivery. For the Network Engineer, function at a strong technical level in all aspects of communication technologies service delivery, including design, technology review, and evaluation of existing services.
