Responsibilities We have a rare opportunity for a motivated, passionate and committed Librarian to join Campion School. This is a high-level support post within the academy responsible for the day-to-day management and development of this essential and popular resource. You will create an exciting and stimulating centre of learning for all students. You will be responsible for fostering a love of reading and literature, the supervision of students in the library and for supporting staff to facilitate students’ independent study, research and reading for pleasure. You will also deliver reading intervention sessions to selected students.
Qualifications Ideally, you will have previous experience of working in a library or school library. Educated to at least GCSE Grade C or above in English and Maths, or the equivalent, you will be an excellent communicator, able to promote literacy and the development of independent learning. A professional qualification in librarianship, information management or information science would be desirable. The ideal candidate will also have experience of delivering reading support intervention.
