Job Summary The Behavior Technician plays a crucial role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, particularly those on the autism spectrum. This position involves implementing behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and working closely with children and their families to promote positive behavioral changes. The Behavior Technician will collect data, monitor progress, and assist in creating a supportive environment that fosters learning and development.

Duties

Implement individualized behavior intervention plans as directed by the supervising BCBA.

Provide direct support to children with autism and other developmental disabilities in various settings.

Collect and record data on client behaviors and progress to inform treatment plans.

Maintain accurate medical documentation, including medical records and intake forms.

Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.

Collaborate with families, educators, and other professionals to support the child’s development.

Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills in applied behavior analysis (ABA) and special education.

Skills

Proficiency in behavioral therapy techniques and applied behavior analysis (ABA).

Experience working with children, particularly those with autism or other developmental disabilities.

Strong skills in data collection and analysis related to behavioral health.

Knowledge of medical terminology, patient care practices, and medical documentation requirements.

Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
