Job Description

The Medical Billing Specialist role is responsible for the accurate and timely claim submission, along with properly managing all claims.   Maintaining accurate balances in accordance with contractual obligations, fee schedules, or regulations is a required job duty.   The Billing Specialist must possess critical thinking skills and understand the Medicare and Texas Medicaid eligibility requirements as well as commercial insurance payers’ payment methods to correctly adjust or resubmit claims as needed.   In addition, the Billing Specialist must demonstrate proficiency with learning the billing system to ensure all functionality is utilized for the efficient processing of claims.

Responsibilities

• Monitor accounts to identify outstanding claims
• Research and notate each outstanding claim
• Find and contact insurances regarding denied claims
• Take actions to resubmit claims in a timely manner
• Ensure all accounts are being attentive to on a monthly basis
