Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Pathology Assistant Discipline : Allied Health Professional Duration : 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift : 8 hours, days Employment Type : Travel Join us in the quiet work that makes the loudest impact Now Hiring : Travel Pathology Assistant Location : Saranac Lake, NY Schedule : 13 Weeks, M-F Day Shift (7 : 30a - 4p); every other weekend and every other holiday expected IMPORTANT : MUST RESIDE 75 MILES OR MORE FROM ZIP CODE 12983 Key Responsibilities : - Supports Pathologists by performing gross examinations, dissecting, and preparing surgical and post-mortem specimens for microscopic analysis and diagnosis - Describe tissue features, submit tissue samples for further testing, assist in autopsies, and maintaining lab records and equipment - Prepare tissues for microscopic examination by dissecting them, taking samples, placing them in cassettes, and submitting them for processing into slides - Perform frozen sections and provide rapid, on-the-spot feedback to surgeons during surgery about tumor presence at surgical margins Qualifications : - Active Pathologist Assistant license in New York - Bachelor's Degree from an accredited Pathologist Assistant Program - Minimum 1 year of experience required, and 1 Travel Assignment completed - Required experience in Surgical Pathology, Histology, Cytology, General, and Autopsy Pathology - Current AHA BLS certification is required Adecco Job ID US_EN_99_020282_2462712.
