Position Purpose :

The Surgical Intermediate Care Unit (SIMCU) at Mount Carmel East is 32 beds. The Registered Nurse (RN) would expect to see a mixture of post-surgical and trauma patients. This unit is great experience for new graduate RNs wanting to learn skills and / or see a wide variety of patient population. It can also make a great transition for those interested in the OR / PACU. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 4 : 1.

The Registered Nurse RN, within the scope of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, will provide care in an atmosphere sensitive to each person’s physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs. The Registered Nurse RN, collaborates in the spirit of teamwork is accountable for the delivery of patient care utilizing the Nursing Process within the standards, policies, procedures and guidelines of the Organization.
