As we continue to grow, we're seeking a talented content specialist to enhance our brand and support engagement efforts through high-quality, compliant content.
The content specialist will play a critical role in developing, editing, and proofreading content across multiple platforms to elevate our brand, sustain trust, educate clients and prospects, and support our business development goals. This role requires strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, a deep understanding of marketing and communications concepts, and the ability to collaborate across internal teams. All candidates must submit at least three writing samples or provide access to an online portfolio and be able to demonstrate a commitment to Sequoia’s core values of integrity, teamwork, and passion.
Responsibilities
Content Creation : Serve as a writer for the firm. Produces written content that is clear, engaging, and compliant for websites, newsletters, email campaigns, social media, video scripts, presentations, webinars, events, marketing collateral and white papers. Ensures that all content aligns with brand messaging, tone of voice, editorial guidelines, and overall marketing and communications objectives.Quality Assurance : Serves as a supporting proofreader on department-produced content, providing quality assurance for communication materials, posts, and messages.Social Content : Provides strategic and engaging content for social posts. Produces proactively according to a content calendar, and also in a timely manner for news items. Serves as a key contributor in recommending social strategies.SEO : Conduct keyword research and optimize content for search engines.Internal Communications : Provides written content as needed for internal messages, executive communications, and presentations.Collaboration : Works closely with marketing team members, advisors, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to translate complex financial topics into digestible content for a broader audience. Interviews SMEs in order to create content as needed.Professional Development : Stays on top of market trends and research; shares relevant insights, trends, and technology with the team to enhance marketing deliverables.Required Skills / Experience
Bachelor’s degree in English, marketing, communications, or a related discipline.4+ years of experience as part of an agency or in-house marketing team.Proven success writing effective marketing and communication materials.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Preferred Skills / Experience
Financial services industry or highly regulated industry experience is preferred.Working knowledge of CRM and CMS platforms (e.g., Salesforce, WordPress, Asana).Champion for AP Style.Competencies
