Job Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Float Pool ICU position requiring ICU and Med / Surg experience, a CO or compact RN license, and current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in the ICU within a Float Pool role at an acute care hospital
  • Responsibilities include floating between ICU and Med / Surg units, and floating to a sister facility located 15 minutes away
  • Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 2
  • Care for critically ill patients, including management of ventilated patients, dysrhythmias, and advanced procedures such as para / thoracentesis and central line placement
  • Night shifts, 3x12 hours, from 18 : 00 to 06 : 00
  • Required to work every other weekend
  • No on-call requirement
  • Uses MediTech Expanse EMR
  • ICU nurses respond to rapid response team calls throughout the facility
  • Employee choice of scrub color
  • Flu shot required during flu season from October 1 to March 31
  • Free parking is available in any unrestricted space
  • Finalized time-off requests must be submitted with application; no RTO permitted in the first two weeks or for full calendar weeks; maximum of 10 days off allowed
  • Local candidates are accepted

  • Active CO or compact RN license in hand is required
  • Minimum of 2 years recent ICU and Med / Surg nursing experience
  • Current certifications required : ACLS, BLS, and PALS
  • NIHSS and TNCC are preferred certifications
  • Experience with advanced ICU procedures such as intubation, central line, art line placement, and managing ventilated patients
  • Ability to interpret and manage cardiac arrhythmias
  • First-time travelers accepted with adequate experience
