Intro

Since 1963, Sheakley has been a trusted leader in safety management across construction, industrial, and high-risk environments. We are hiring a Safety Manager to support a GC on a heavy civil project in Cincinnati, OH . This role is ideal for experienced safety professionals with steel contractor, rigging, and aerial lift backgrounds who can lead daily safety activities, enforce compliance, and ensure safe execution of project work.

The Safety Manager will provide daily onsite oversight, conduct inspections, and work closely with subcontractors and crews to sustain a proactive safety culture throughout the project.

Compensation

  • ???? Rate : $50–$54 / hr
  • ???? Per Diem : Not provided (local candidates strongly preferred)
  • ???? Pay Frequency : Weekly

Schedule

  • ???? Hours : 50–60 hours / week
  • ???? Schedule : Monday–Saturday, first shift
  • Project Scope

    This assignment supports GC safety oversight for a heavy civil project, including :

    Overseeing three subcontractors performing rigging, critical lifts, welding, and working at heights

    Leading toolbox talks, orientations, and daily safety meetings

    Conducting inspections, audits, and hazard identification

    Enforcing OSHA, site-specific, and client safety protocols

    Coordinating safety documentation and compliance with subcontractors

    Monitoring aerial lifts, steel erection, rigging, and leading-edge activities

    Qualifications

    ✅ OSHA 510, required

    ✅ Minimum 5+ years of safety experience

    ✅ Proven management experience

    ✅ Experience with steel contractors, aerial lifts, rigging, and leading-edge safety, required

    Knowledge Base

    Strong working knowledge of OSHA 1926 Construction standards with emphasis on :

    Steel erection and leading-edge safety

    Rigging and critical lift safety procedures

    Aerial lift operations and fall protection

    Welding and hot work oversight

    Hazard recognition, inspections, and corrective action reporting
