About VLP : The Erie County Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Project, Inc. (VLP) is a not-for- profit corporation that provides free civil legal services to low-income people and small non-profit groups in a variety of legal matters including, but not limited to : detained and non-detained immigration, family law, eviction defense, matrimonial matters, consumer matters, estates, and end of life planning. Intern with VLP and help give a voice to those who are not heard!

POSITIVE FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS PROGRAM INTERNSHIP
Location : 438 Main Street 7 th Floor Buffalo, NY 14202; Hybrid schedule possible.
Description : VLP's Positive Families and Individuals Program provides a wide range of civil legal services for HIV positive people and their families. The program utilizes a unique general practice and holistic lawyering model of legal services that aims to resolve as many legal issues for each client as possible. The intern will interview clients, conduct legal research, assist with case preparation, and accompany the attorneys to court appearances. This is an ideal opportunity for students who are still exploring career options-our work spans many areas of civil law, giving you the chance to gain exposure to family law, consumer law, discrimination matters, end-of-life planning, and more. Whether or not you see yourself pursuing a legal career, you will leave with skills, insight, and perspective that will serve you in any path you choose.
