Marine Transportation Dispatcher
Do you have experience dispatching marine transportation? Do you enjoy working a 7 on and 7 off schedule? If so, this may be a great opportunity for you! This job is primarily responsible for scheduling, ensuring security, and dispatching inland tug boats moving barges. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, establishing priorities, securing equipment and resources applicable to work order, maintaining records and processing paperwork, providing various reports, and consistent communication with all staff and tugboat personnel. Additionally, this job may dispatch staff in response to incidents and emergency requests from vessels.

Required Associate's Degree in general studies or equivalent experience and training.

Preferred Prior dispatch experience and / or related industry experience.

Physical Demands & Requirements
Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and / or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
Hearing. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.
The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as : preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and / or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and / or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes. The employee is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and / or heavy equipment.

The work environment described here are meant to be representative of those an employee would normally encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. The physical environment requires the employee to work inside where there are limited extremes to heat and / or cold; moderate noise; a normal office environment. Travel, required within assigned region.
