We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Lab Technician to join our team and support critical laboratory operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with laboratory equipment, testing procedures, and quality control processes to ensure accurate and reliable results in a fast-paced scientific environment.

Position Summary :
The Protein Production Unit Technician (PPU Technician) will :
Provide daily care and health monitoring of animals
Follow standard operating procedures and good documentation practices
Organize, clean, and maintain production rooms, supplies, and equipment for egg layers
Support the production facility by working shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed
You will be responsible for :
Sanitizing animal rooms, enclosures, equipment, corridors, and support areas using appropriate techniques to promote animal health and comply with regulations and company policies
Providing nutrition to animals by supplying feed and water
Organizing and maintaining animal enclosures, supplies, and equipment
Assessing animal health status by gathering and documenting data and observing animals
Administering treatments, euthanizing animals, initiating and maintaining records per SOPs
Maintaining records by collecting and recording data
Handling and restraining animals using appropriate techniques to ensure safe and humane care
Providing weekend and / or holiday animal care as needed
Cross-training in all areas of the facility and providing coverage as needed
Overseeing packaging of waste materials for incineration; receiving and processing incoming supplies and materials
Assisting with special projects as needed
You will need to have :
No unmanaged allergies to animals
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to closely follow established procedures
Capability to meet the physical requirements of a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment , including :
Frequently lifting / carrying 15 / 30 lbs unassisted / assisted
Standing, walking, moving for prolonged periods
Climbing stairs / ladders
Gowning / degowning PPE and uniforms
Using a computer and collaborating with others
General availability during standard business hours
We would prefer for you to have :
Associate or Bachelor’s degree
One or more years of experience working in a Laboratory Animal Facility or in a cGMP environment
