Overview
Senior Manager - Transportation Engineering role at AECOM. The Transportation Business Line is seeking a creative, highly talented and self-motivated Senior Project Manager – Transportation Engineering for immediate employment in the Indianapolis, IN office. The candidate should demonstrate an established career in civil engineering with experience in intersection and roadway design, highway design, pavement design, drainage design, utility coordination, and the preparation of construction documents, including plans, specifications and construction estimates.
Job Responsibilities
- Serve as lead engineer on mid- to large-size highway / roadway projects.
- Engage in business development, including prospecting and proposal development, with established relationships with local clients such as the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) and local agencies.
- Pursue alternative delivery projects, including proposals and project procurements.
- Provide specialized technical input to studies and design for the staff\'s area of expertise.
- Approve and sign off on work; provide technical expertise for studies and design efforts.
- Present complex technical solutions to clients.
- Perform quality control reviews of work developed by others.
- Participate in the development of technical proposals and provide estimates for engineering budgets and schedules on large projects.
- Act as a strong technical resource and advisor; lead and manage projects and teams; develop study and design procedures for high-quality, cost-effective work.
- Participate in interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables and ensure compliance with PA / ED and PS&E package steps.
- Prepare technical specification sections and contribute to engineering budget and schedule development.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
BA / BS + 10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil EngineeringProfessional Engineer license in Indiana or ability to obtain within six monthsProject management experience in transportation projectsProficiency in MicroStation and / or AutoCAD (OpenRoads Designer and Civil3D)Ability to proactively communicate and lead department staffEstablished relationships with local clients (10+ years) and familiarity with INDOT and Indiana counties, including local agency specifications, policies and proceduresExperience with alternative delivery projectsStrong business development capabilities with municipal, regional, and state decision-makersAdditional Information
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $140,000.00 - $190,000.00.
