Your Role
We're looking for a Software Engineer II to join our Fan team, focused on bringing teams and athletes closer to their fans through our new fan experience. Everything amateur sports fans need is in one place, like livestream game broadcasts, highlight reels, tickets, rosters, scores and more.
In this role, you will :
- Collaborate . Work with a cross-functional team across Engineering, Quality, Product, Design, and Scrum to improve our video livestreaming infrastructure on web, mobile, and TV apps.
- Deliver full-stack web and mobile features . Iterate rapidly and deploy changes across the product hundreds of times a day.
- Propose new solutions . Solve technical challenges and provide guidance to less experienced engineers.
For this role, candidates should be within commuting distance of our offices in Lexington, KY, Lincoln, NE or Omaha, NE and work from the office at least three days weekly.
Must-Haves
Exposure to mature, full-stack web application code . 2+ years of experience building across client-side to database layers.A collaborative, team-first mindset . Ability to work with others to achieve the best outcome, including participating in technical discussions, helping teammates, and providing quality feedback in code reviews.Experience navigating uncertainty . Comfortable with multiple implementation options and able to balance quality, consistency, and delivering immediate customer value.Curiosity . Able to learn new technologies and domains on the job and enjoy working across stack layers and multiple products.Nice-to-Haves
Background in C#, React, MongoDB and / or AWS . Related technologies at scale are relevant; core tech background is a plus.Video processing and storage experience . Familiarity with tools like ffmpeg and livestreaming protocols (HLS, RTMP, SRT, etc.).Mobile development know-how . Experience with React Native or native iOS / Android; Hudl uses React Native for fan experiences across platforms.Experience with hybrid teams . The base salary range for this role is $90,000–$150,000 USD. Starting salaries typically fall near the middle of this range. Base salary decisions are based on experience, skills, and education in line with internal pay equity practices.
