Overview : Presbyterian is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Adult Surgical Unit team. The LPN will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to adult patients recovering from surgery, managing chronic illnesses, or dealing with acute medical conditions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent clinical skills, teamwork, and a commitment to patient care in a fast-paced hospital environment. Educational and career development options, including tuition and certification reimbursement, scholarship opportunities Earn your PN degree with Presbyterian Nursing Career Pathways , powered by Brookline College Strongline Staff Safety (a wearable badge that allows nurses to quickly and discreetly call for help when safety is a concern) Shift differentials for nights and weekends Differentials for higher education, certifications and various lead roles Malpractice liability insurance Loan forgiveness through the New Mexico Higher Education Department EPIC electronic charting system Qualifications : -High School Diploma or GED -Licensed Practical Nurse-NM or out of state compact LPN license -BLS required at time of hire Responsibilities : - Provide direct patient care, including monitoring vital signs, assisting with mobility, and supporting activities of daily living - Administer prescribed medications, injections, and IV therapies under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or physician. - Assist in dressing changes, wound care, and post-surgical care according to physician orders. - Observe and report changes in patient conditions, including symptoms, reactions to treatments, or changes in vital signs. - Work closely with RNs, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team to implement individualized care plans for patients. - Provide patients and families with instructions regarding post-discharge care, medication regimens, and follow-up appointments. - Adhere to infection control protocols, including proper hand hygiene, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and sterile techniques. - Assist in responding to patient emergencies and follow protocols to ensure timely and appropriate care.
