Overview

DPS Group, LLC, located in Wetumpka, AL, is an Electrical & Electronics Contractor serving the Corrections Industry. We perform our trade in Prisons, Jails, Police Stations, & Courthouses throughout the Southern States (www.dpsgroup.net).

We are looking for a self-starting, motivated individual willing to lead and help train a crew of 1-5 men. This is a hands-on, working leader position. Applicants must live within a reasonable daily driving distance of our main office in Wetumpka, AL (60 miles + / -). Employment is contingent on a successful Drug Screening (Hair and Urine) and Criminal Background check.

There are always a few local projects, but most projects are out of town (100 miles plus from Wetumpka, AL), so the ability and willingness to travel is a must. Typical work schedules allow for returning home every 1 to 2 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule projects, estimate time and materials, maintain records and files and prepare reports.
• Plan and supervise the work of subordinates (Electricians, Apprentices, Helpers, etc.).
• Coordinate job assignments with other trades (e.g., plumbers, carpenters).
• Advise company management of technical problems related to installation, modification, additions, and / or repairs on assigned projects.
• Recommend procedural revisions to fully utilize electricians, other personnel and equipment.
• Manage and track material and company tools.
• Maintain regular, effective communication with office personnel and complete paperwork (daily logs, time sheets, etc.) in a timely manner.
• Ensure quality control and perform work in a neat, safe, and professional manner.
• Be knowledgeable and proficient in the current electrical code, and able to research and retrieve information from it.

Qualifications

Physical Demands

Frequently required to stand, walk, and reach. Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Frequent lifting up to 10 lbs, occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Occasional work in crawlspaces, trenches, and high elevations. Must be able to see to discern code-detailed wiring and drawings.
