$2,600 per week

About The Position

Job Title : Emergency Room Registered Nurse

Profession : Registered Nurse

Specialty : Emergency Room

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Day

Hours per Shift : 12 hours

Experience : Minimum 2 years of experience in Progressive or Acute Emergency Room required.

License : Valid Registered Nurse license required.

Certifications : ACLS, BLS, PALS required.

Must-Have : Previous charge experience preferred.

Preferred experience in community hospital and trauma levels.

Description :

ER Registered Nurse position available for day shifts.

Option for 36 or 48 hours per week.

First-time travelers are welcome with 2-3 years of relevant experience.

No floating between units is required.

Work schedule includes every other weekend with a minimum of three shifts in a six-week period.

Patient diagnoses include Medical Surgical, Respiratory, Gastrointestinal, Genitourinary, Cardiac, Neurological, Minor Trauma, Obstetrics / Gynecology, Integumentary, and initial medical care for strokes, STEMIs, major trauma, and pediatrics prior to transfer.

Unit procedures may involve chest tubes, thoracentesis, paracentesis, rapid sequence intubation, splinting, procedural sedation, restraints, vacuum D&C, central lines, and ultrasound-guided IVs.

Special equipment utilized includes rapid infuser, EZ IO, Lifepack 15 and 20, GE monitors, GE EKG, and GlideScope.

Interdisciplinary support is available from physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation.

Daily census averages around 90 patients, with a capacity of 40 beds.

The required staff-to-patient ratio during day shifts is five patients per nurse.

Additional required skills include arterial line management, blood product administration, continuous IV sedation, and triage among others.

Available for patient age groups from neonates to geriatrics.

Travelers will be expected to float to similar units as needed, based on facility needs.
