Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Inpatient Rehab
Purpose : A Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in an inpatient rehab setting works under a Physical Therapist (PT) to provide hands-on care to patients recovering from injuries or illnesses. Their daily work involves implementing treatment plans through therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and patient education, as well as communicating with the PT and other healthcare team members to monitor patient progress.
Shift : 11 : 00pm - 7 : 30pm
What you will do :
Demonstrates competency in the administration of all patient care activities. Provides for variety and creativity in treatment programs
Safe work practices and proper body mechanics are displayed consistently.
Takes responsibility to seek out yearly assessment of competencies, both general and area specific.
Accurate results are consistently obtained from tests and measurements.
Confers with Physical Therapists to clarify and update patient medical status, treatment plans, contraindications and goals. Ongoing, open discussions regarding specific patients needs are expected.
Provides necessary discharge instructions, including written programs.
Effectively provides patient and family education, when appropriate.
Assists with the completion of discharge summaries
Minimum Qualifications :
Graduate of Accredited School for Physical Therapy Assistants required Licensure : Current Florida State Licensure required. National Certification (NBCOT) preferred
BLS required.
