$2,686 per week

About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Profession : RN (Registered Nurse)

Specialty : Labor and Delivery

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Nights

Hours per Shift : 12 hours

Experience : Minimum of 2 years in Labor and Delivery

License : Active IL license or confirmation that application process has been initiated

Certifications : BLS, NRP, ACLS, Advanced AWHONN EFM class

Must-Have :

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in Labor and Delivery
  • Proficiency in care of high-risk obstetric patients
  • Ability to manage Magnesium and Insulin drips
  • Experience circulating a cesarean section in the OR and recovering patients in PACU
  • Proficiency in newborn care during both vaginal and cesarean deliveries

Description :

We are seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery to join our team.

This position requires proficiency in managing high-risk obstetric patients.

The nurse will care for patients undergoing vaginal and cesarean deliveries.

Candidates must have ACLS and NRP certifications.

The unit operates under a 1 : 1 nurse-to-patient ratio for Pitocin induction and active labor.

For vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections, the ratio is 2 RNs to 1 patient.

Nurses are expected to accurately titrate drips such as Pitocin, Magnesium, and Insulin.

There is a charge nurse present on every shift who does not take patient assignments.

The department may float RNs to postpartum and antepartum units as needed.

Nurses in the postpartum unit will care for 5-6 patients, while those in antepartum will manage 3 high-risk patients intermittently on EFM monitoring.

Surgical scrubs will be provided to nursing staff.

All RNs must complete unit-specific orientation typically over three shifts.
