Job Title : Senior Data Platform Engineer (2 openings)

Duration : 6+ months

Location : Hybrid 3 days onsite in Malvern, PA

Rate - 70-80 / hour W2 / 80-90 / hour Corp

Introduction

We are seeking two highly skilled Senior Data Platform Engineers to help design and build AI-ready data platforms in AWS. This is a hands-on, technical role ideal for engineers passionate about building scalable, high-performance data systems that power AI and analytics. You'll join a forward-thinking team focused on enabling data-driven insights by developing and optimizing the AWS-based data backbone for the enterprise.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 8+ years of software development or data platform engineering experience.
  • Proven experience building AWS-based data platforms that support AI and analytics.
  • Hands-on expertise with key AWS data services, including :
  • Step Functions
  • Glue (ETL pipelines)
  • S3, Lake Formation, Iceberg (data lakes)
  • Athena (query engine)
  • Strong proficiency in Python for data pipeline automation and scripting.
  • Experience with GitHub CI / CD and deployment automation.
  • Demonstrated ability to optimize AWS infrastructure for performance and cost.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Databricks for data processing and machine learning workflows.
  • Exposure to synthetic data generation.
  • Prior architecture or design responsibilities for enterprise-scale data platforms.
  • Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain data pipelines using AWS Step Functions, Glue, and batch processing frameworks.
  • Design, implement, and optimize data lakes leveraging S3, Lake Formation, and Iceberg.
  • Enable data access and analytics through Athena and other AWS services.
  • Develop automation and deployment workflows using GitHub CI / CD.
  • Write, optimize, and maintain Python-based data services.
  • Ensure solutions are cost-optimized and high-performing within AWS.
  • Collaborate closely with platform, architecture, and data science teams to deliver AI-ready data platforms.
