RN- PACU Manager (Permanent Role)

Location : Austin, TX 73301

Shift : 12-hr Days | 7 : 00 AM - 7 : 00 PM

Guaranteed Hours : (36 hours / week)

Compensation : Based on experience (Negotiable)

Job Summary :

The RN PACU Manager is a working manager responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This role ensures high-quality patient care while managing staff, resources, and departmental operations efficiently.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Oversee staffing assignments in accordance with department objectives and policies to ensure effective coverage and maintain productivity targets.
  • Review and approve personnel performance appraisals, including establishing goals for each employee.
  • Regularly review and revise departmental manuals, policies / procedures, standing orders, and protocols with input from appropriate stakeholders.
  • Monitor the condition of facilities and take corrective actions to resolve existing or potential problems.
  • Participate in Process Improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Support management decisions by acting as a change agent through role modeling.
  • Maintain current professional growth through independent study and continuing education programs.
  • Participate in budget management and inventory control.
  • Engage in staff development and self-development activities.

Qualifications :

  • Education : Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Licensure : Active RN license in the state of Texas
  • Certifications Required :
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Experience : Previous PACU or critical care experience.
