The starting rate for this position is $21.36, with incremental increases based on skill and qualification development.
Summary
Under the supervision of the Production Supervisor, the employee will perform minor to major equipment repairs and assist with manure composting from Production buildings. The role involves handling manure drying, conveying, and storage across the complex.
Key Responsibilities
- Request safety supplies, materials, parts, etc., from the designated procurement stakeholder.
- Prepare for DNR or customer audits with proper procedures and documentation.
- Enter data into DBF spreadsheets.
- Ensure the security of chickens and premises by keeping all facility doors locked to prevent predators, weather, and unauthorized access.
- Properly dispose of mortality through incineration.
- Complete and document all preventative maintenance, special projects, and daily maintenance tasks timely.
- Perform manure removal functions.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on compost buildings.
- Operate required equipment and tools safely, including skid loaders, and perform proper maintenance.
- Understand daily compost activities and procedures.
- Maintain proper loading, turning times, and schedules for composting.
- Manage manure stacking to optimize space.
- Oversee cleaning and housekeeping of manure sheds.
- Perform weekly compost inventories.
- Understand and implement manure management programs.
- Obtain necessary licensing for specific duties.
- Perform pre-operation inspections on all vehicles and equipment, documenting as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.At least 1 year of experience in a production agricultural environment is preferred.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Work Environment
Exposure to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles; temperature varies; noise level is moderate. Personal protective equipment is required during certain conditions.
