Job Summary :

Teach one course at the graduate level : REL853 / 853e Capstone Seminar. This is a 3 credits course, which requires 45 contact hours. This is an online course to be taught in the Fall 2025 semester.

Course Description : This course is designed to prepare the Master of Divinity students to undertake the writing of a capstone project required by the program. This final, integrative project offers students an opportunity to integrate assessments and coursework experiences during their matriculation in the MDiv program, and to construct a theological worldview within the professional field of chaplaincy and / or spiritual leadership. This capstone project is intended to not only draw from the full range of MDiv course materials and experiences, but is also designed to encourage students to place their constructive work in conversation with literature and research in their respective field(s). Transpersonal, contemplative, feminist, action / participant, social change, and intuitive inquiry are also explored.

Job Duties :

• Prepare course syllabus and course shell on Canvas LMS according to the Academic Affairs syllabi instructions and submit the syllabus to the Office of Academic Affairs by the established deadline.
• Instruct students online asynchronously in accordance with the syllabus, assess student progress, and assign grades to students accordingly, provide written and feedback to students on their progress in the course and on assigned work, submit grades to registrar by approved deadlines.
• Provide one hour of office hours each week plus availability to students by appointment.
• Obtain permission from the copyright owner for any copyrighted material to be used in source books.
• Complete any and all faculty and staff trainings, including training in Canvas CMS, as required by the Human Resources Office or the Office of Academic Affairs within the time period set for completion by those departments.
• Create and maintain a positive team environment and behave professionally with everyone

encountered in the course and scope of the job duties.

Faculty members spend most of their time in their classrooms or in virtual meetings with some time in offices. As a faculty member, you may spend extended periods in front of students and speaking as well as :
