Assistant Director / Outreach & Engagement
The Assistant Director of Outreach and Engagement will serve as the lead on essential efforts on behalf of the CAS (an International College Learning Center of Excellence), LSU, and EMSS to support and increase student learning and achievement of metrics associated with increasing student retention through case management, initiatives, and CAS programs and services. Primary responsibilities will include supervision, oversight of learning strategy sessions, case management, presentations, learning outreach initiatives, and content creation and management. The position will support the EMSS mission by serving as a catalyst for positive and sustainable changes to support students in becoming LSU graduates. The position will be committed to maintaining a culture of excellence, the academic mission of the university, and maximizing innovation and data-driven insights that exemplify the power of education. Supervises Senior Learning Specialists and Learning Strategies Coordinators.

Required Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in education, higher education or related field and three years of experience in education or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications :
Master's degree in counseling, education, higher education or related field.
Experience in a college learning center setting.
Experience with creating digital assets that are ADA accessible.

Special Qualifications :
As with all LSU employees, due to this position title and / or responsibilities, this position has an obligation to assist students in the acquisition of necessary services. Should a student appear in need of or seek assistance with issues of an emotional, behavioral, or mental health related matter they should be referred to the proper service within the Student Health Center. In situations where the student creates an impression that they are a danger to themselves or others, the advisor should immediately contact the Care Team, the Dean of Students or the appropriate law enforcement agency. The employee outside of those rights contained within FERPA should create no impression of client or patient confidentiality.
