Overview

Lead Epic Applications Analyst (Ambulatory, Healthy Planet, Security) at CommUnityCare Health Centers. The Lead Epic Applications Analyst will serve as the technical leader for their applications and provide guidance to the Senior Epic Application Analysts and Epic Application Analysts within their areas. The Lead will lead cross-application collaboration, including with the Cogito team, and perform duties of the Senior Epic Applications Analyst with additional leadership responsibilities.

The role involves configuring Epic applications, analyzing user requirements, completing technical documentation, testing (internal and User Acceptance Testing), participating in project teams, supporting upgrades and new workflows, and coordinating with the Interface Team to connect third-party applications. A strong understanding of workflow interdependencies is required to guide customers in informed decision making. The Lead Epic Applications Analyst will also perform other duties as assigned.

Remote work : Individuals in this position may work at an approved off-site location; however, they may be required to occasionally visit an on-site location in Austin, Texas.

Responsibilities

• Leads discussions with operational leaders regarding Epic configuration options to guide decisions and workflows.
• Facilitates discussions and analysis between Epic analysts and training specialists to address complex workflow issues or configuration options.
• Leads collaboration between the Application Analysts and the Cogito team regarding the impact of application configuration on reporting outcomes.
• Leads and mentors Senior Analysts working in the same application areas.
• Provides guidance, resources, and tools to improve mentorship of Analysts; may offer direct mentorship to Epic Analysts as necessary.
• Identifies potential performance issues within the team and escalates to leadership.
• Identifies and implements requested changes to the system.
• Tracks workflow KPIs (such as denials and care gaps) to identify inefficiencies and collaborates with relevant teams for improvement.
• Works with Education, Process Improvement, and other departmental stakeholders on process improvement efforts.
• Proactively integrates knowledge of upcoming Epic updates into departmental strategic planning.
• Responsible for building system components, testing, implementation support, and maintenance of assigned Epic applications.
• Performs in-depth analysis, troubleshooting, data collection, and root cause analysis to identify and implement solutions.
• Participates in and leads the review, build, and testing of key applications for Epic upgrades and special updates; communicates changes to operations.
• Reviews or audits operational and methodology documents created by the Senior Analyst.
• Recommends and designs system change control procedures.
• Works closely with other analysts, Epic third-party vendors, and operations to ensure system integrity and that IT deliverables meet business needs.
• Researches, analyzes, facilitates, and implements business and system workflows to expedite process improvement and coordinate practices.
• Provides technical system guidance to management to improve and streamline operational workflows; identifies best practices and opportunities for standardization.
• Utilizes standard tools to plan tasks / projects and monitors progress toward milestones and deadlines; reassigns resources as needed.
• Maintains up-to-date expertise on the operation and application of Epic applications and related EHR indicators, standards, and processes.
• Provides third-tier support for various applications / modules when escalated; offers support via phone, electronic communication, virtual meetings, and in-person meetings.
• Creates and tracks tickets with internal teams and vendors; ensures timely handling per SLA.
• Guides workflow design, builds, tests, and analyzes technical issues; coordinates system changes with governance for decision making.
• Works with vendors, the organization, and end users to ensure systems meet business needs regarding deliverables and timelines; maintains regular vendor communication.
• Collaborates with trainers to ensure training materials reflect the current build of systems.
