Overview
The Grants Writer is responsible for researching, preparing, submitting, and managing grant proposals and reports that support agency goals and meet foundation funding guidelines and criteria. This role serves as the primary grant writer, assists in managing funder relationships, engages in compliance reporting, and supports special project initiatives. Requires strong writing, data analysis, program budgeting, project management, and a focus on clear writing and outcome measurement.
Responsibilities
- Lead grant proposal development and submission — prepare and organize materials for proposals, and submit and monitor grant applications.
- Draft proposals / LOIs, narratives, and budgets; collaborate with development, program, finance, and the CEO to finalize documents.
- Submit grant applications; meet with funders to explore funding opportunities and fulfill site visit requirements.
- Maintain master calendar of grants, prospects, files, and correspondence; maintain a library of grant support documents.
- In collaboration with the Community Engagement and Impact Manager and Contracts Manager, execute thank you letters and facilitate grant contracts / agreements.
- Ensure acknowledgment of funders via website, e-newsletter, and social media.
- Work with the Quality Improvement Director and Financial Team to maintain grant compliance and reporting, including outcome measurement and grant budgets.
- Monitor and maintain funder reporting schedules and requirements; assist with drafting progress reports and program updates for funders (e.g., blog posts, press releases, social media).
- Assemble supporting materials (budget reports, outcomes, success stories) and submit reports to funders; maintain positive relationships with funders and stakeholders.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Creative Writing, or related field (master’s degree preferred).Minimum five years of experience in grant writing.Excellent knowledge of proposal submission and fundraising processes.Ability to study and understand program and funding requirements of the organization.Strong research skills and knowledge of information sources.Multitasking, organizational, and time management skills.Ability to handle confidential matters with integrity; working knowledge of computers.Note : This is a contractor position.CFCE is a Drug Free Workplace and an Equal Opportunity Employer.#J-18808-Ljbffr
