This is a DIRECT Hire Automation Technician opportunity for an automotive parts manufacturing company in South Indianapolis, IN. Be a part of a start up operation. This is a hands-on role where you will be instrumental in building, modifying, and optimizing production equipment and automation systems at our growing facility.

As an Automation Technician, you will be responsible for assembling and adapting production equipment, supporting machine commissioning, and contributing to process improvements. This role emphasizes mechanical systems, controls, and automation technologies.

Equipment Assembly & Modification : Assemble, modify, and adapt production equipment and mechanical fixtures to meet evolving production needs.

Technical Drawings & Schematics : Interpret and work from mechanical and automation drawings and schematics.

Machine Commissioning : Support the installation and commissioning of new machines and equipment.

Automation Systems : Install and adjust sensors, actuators, valves, and other automation components.

Process Optimization : Contribute to technical improvement projects and help optimize process flows.

CAD & Mechanical Design : Participate in CAD-based design and mechanical construction. Experience is welcome, and learning is encouraged.

Job Experience

Educational Background : Technical education or vocational training in mechanical, electrical, or automation fields.

Experience : Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly, welding, or machining.

Industry Background : Experience in industrial manufacturing, ideally automotive or similar.

Technical Skills : Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical, and automation schematics.

Automation Knowledge : Experience with industrial automation and control systems.

CAD Familiarity : Interest or experience in CAD design and mechanical drafting.

Nice to Have :

PLC troubleshooting or programming experience

Experience with pneumatics or hydraulics

Exposure to lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives
