We are seeking three dedicated and skilled individuals to fill specialized Lead Groundskeeper roles. The Opportunities
We are hiring for the following three lead positions :
Lead Athletic Groundskeeper : You will lead the team responsible for the maintenance of all our outdoor athletic facilities. This includes everything from our natural and artificial turf sports fields to our hockey rink and tennis courts. A strong background in sports field maintenance is essential.
Lead Groundskeeper (Campus Operations & Events) : Your primary focus will be ensuring that work orders for moves and deliveries are completed efficiently. You will also play a key role in supervising the setup for major events like Commencement and Alumni Weekend, and you will fulfill the duties of the Grounds Foreperson in their absence.
Lead Gardener Landscaper : You will oversee the care and maintenance of all trees, shrubs, flowers, and landscapes across the campus. Your expertise will guide the team in pruning, planting, pest control, and ensuring the overall health and beauty of our cultivated spaces.
Responsibilities :
Regardless of your specialization, as a Lead Groundskeeper, you will :
Provide direct supervision and guidance to a team of groundskeepers.
Monitor work in the field for efficiency and best practices, and direct work crews.
Assist the Grounds Foreperson in assigning work, scheduling, and ensuring task completion.
Operate a wide range of groundskeeping equipment.
Train new employees.
Assist with snow removal and be available for on-call or standby status during the winter.
Qualifications :
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required.
A valid driver's license is required.
The ability to obtain a Massachusetts Hoisting Engineer License and DOT Medical Card.
A Massachusetts Pesticide Applicators License is required, or must be obtained within the first two years of employment.
The ability to perform as a team member, with respect for and cooperation with coworkers, supervisors, and all members of the college community.
These are full-time, year-round positions, and remote work is not available. Application review will begin on October 14, 2025, and will continue until the positions are filled.
