We’re currently seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to join our team!
Job Summary The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating a variety of heavy equipment to support site preparation, grading, and other related earth moving activities.
This position ensures safe, efficient, and precise operation of equipment to meet project specifications and deadlines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operate heavy equipment including but not limited to scrapers, dozers, loaders, motor graders, backhoes, articulated trucks, and water trucks.
Perform earthmoving, grading, excavation, and site preparation tasks for oilfield and construction projects.
Follow directions from supervisors to complete tasks.
Conduct pre-operation inspections and perform basic maintenance on assigned equipment.
Ensure safe operation of equipment, adhering to all safety guidelines and procedures.
Report any equipment malfunctions or hazards to supervisors immediately.
Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
Assist with other related tasks as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities Proven ability to operate heavy equipment safely and effectively.
Ability to follow supervisor instructions.
Strong situational awareness and commitment to safety.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong work ethic and adaptability to changing project demands.
Ability to travel out of town to job sites in areas surrounding Gillette.
Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of heavy equipment operating experience preferred.
Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience operating dozers and / or blades.
Certifications and Licenses Valid Driver’s License MSHA, CPR-First Aid, OSHA 10, PEC Veriforce Basic and H2S a plus, but not required.
Work Environment Outdoor job sites in oilfield and construction environments with exposure to varying weather conditions.
May be exposed to dust, mud, noise, vibrations, and heavy machinery.
Travel to remote or rural job sites may be required.
Physical Demands Prolonged periods of operating heavy equipment.
Ability to climb on and off machinery safely.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
Ability to sit, stand, and operate controls for extended periods.
Schedule Typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 10-12 hour day shifts. Overtime, weekend, and extended hours may be required depending on project demands.
