Facilities Management Operations Manager
Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking an experienced leader to fill the role as Facilities Management Operations Manager (FMO). The Facilities Management Operations Manager (FMO) serves as a key leader within the Weapons Facility Operations (WFO) Division, reporting to the Division Office. In this role, you will guide and mentor Facility Management Operations Teams, aligning daily maintenance and operational activities with long-term strategic goals. You will ensure resources are effectively deployed, operations run seamlessly, and tactical challenges are resolved with efficiency-driving both operational excellence and mission success.
As an Operations Manager 4 you will have the ability to manage and oversee operational activities independently or with minimal supervision. You will develop and administer operations-related plans, budgets, policies and procedures. As the Group Lead for FMO, you will also participate in strategic WFO initiatives and process improvements in conjunction with programmatic customers and other LANL institutional organizations, as well as developing staffing plans, recruiting / hiring, and budget management.
This position will partner with programmatic customers to strengthen operations, improve safety culture, and increase operational formality by bringing the right expertise together to encourage organizational learning, better understand the needs of stakeholders and customers, and enable simultaneous excellence to better deliver on the national security mission.

Minimum Job Requirements
Demonstrated record of promoting teamwork, consensus building, mentoring and motivating peers and subordinates across division lines.
Demonstrated experience with the implementation of Conduct of Operations.
Demonstrated experience with the implementation of Conduct of Maintenance with knowledge of work planning and control, including hazard identification, hazards analysis and controls.
Demonstrated experience with management and implementation of access control operations centers.
Demonstrated experience with facility management and infrastructure programs, particularly in the areas of maintenance and project management.
Demonstrated experience with risk management, sustainability, finance and business, system engineering.
Understanding of abnormal event response and reporting, to include facilitating fact findings and learning teams, as well as reviewing root cause analysis and lessons learned.
In-depth knowledge of work hazards, safety programs, lock-out / tag-out requirements, and facility policies and procedures.
Excellent oral / written communication skills to include presentations and report writing.
Ability to negotiate with customers and their management, and influence senior-level leaders regarding matters of significance to the organization.
Active Q clearance or DOD equivalent.
Education / Experience :
Position requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and 8 years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
Desired Qualifications :
Experience in facility operations.
Experience in explosives facility operations, intentional firing operations, and accelerator operations.
Familiarity with WFO Procedures and Protocols.
Demonstrated knowledge of the Laboratory's organizational structure and programs, including conduct of maintenance, conduct of engineering, conduct of operations, quality assurance, and performance assurance systems.
Ability to translate technical terms to layperson's terms and present them to non-technical audiences.

Incentive Compensation Program : Position is eligible to participate in the Triad Incentive Compensation Program. You must be in an eligible position for a minimum of 3 months, before July 1st and remain in an eligible position as of the end of the fiscal year, September 30th. The annual distribution is prorated based on the number of months in the eligible position.
