    • Here's the details on what we are looking for in this position :

  • We are seeking a Senior Physical Substation Engineer with deep experience in high-voltage substation design (69kV–345kV).
  • This is a senior-level, execution-driven role intended for someone who can step in and start delivering immediately.
  • You’ll be expected to take ownership of design packages, guide project execution, and support the development of junior engineers.
  • This position is on-site and requires close collaboration with engineers, drafters, and project leads.
  • Remote or hybrid options are not available at this time.

    • Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Lead the physical layout and design of high-voltage substations, including general arrangements, equipment plans, grounding, conduit routing, and cable schedules.
  • Prepare and review markups using Bluebeam Revu, working closely with drafters to ensure accuracy and adherence to standards.
  • Own design deliverables from concept to IFC, ensuring quality, compliance, and constructability.
  • Collaborate across internal teams (P&C, Drafting, Project Management) to align efforts and meet deadlines.
  • Serve as a technical resource to troubleshoot issues, perform QA / QC, and support junior team members.
  • Engage with utility clients to clarify scope, resolve design issues, and build lasting relationships.
  • Assist in project scoping, estimating, and proposal development when needed.
  • Up to 25% travel required.
  • Complete other duties as assigned, including a willingness to temporarily fill-in for other roles / duties as required.

    • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • PE license preferred, or the ability to obtain it within one year of hire.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in substation physical design, including full design ownership and direct client interface.
  • Proficient with Bluebeam Revu for markups and collaboration.
  • Strong knowledge of NESC, IEEE, NEC, and utility standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage design scope independently and deliver accurate, constructible packages on time.   Join our team.
