American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Dickinson, North Dakota.

Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with a valid ND or compact license and prior travel OR experience for a 13-week contract.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Position is in the Operating Room of an acute care hospital with 6 OR suites and 1 GI suite
  • Caring for adult, pediatric, geriatric, and obstetric patients involving cases such as ortho total joints, OB / GYN procedures, general surgery, and endoscopy
  • Utilizes equipment including C-arm and Mako robotic systems
  • Meditech is used for electronic charting
  • Scheduled for 9-hour day shifts Monday through Thursday, with one weekend per month and 1-2 call shifts per week
  • On-call required for holidays and weekends with a 15-minute response time
  • Occasional floating to assist other departments without patient assignments
  • Scrubs are provided by the facility
  • RNs are not required to scrub
  • Unit does not have a charge nurse taking assignments during shifts
  • OR techs are present to assist the team
  • Average daily case load ranges from 6 to 10, with potential to reach up to 20 cases
  • Team and self-scheduling are available
  • One week of department-specific orientation provided
  • Candidates must reside a minimum of 50 miles from the facility
  • Candidates may not have been employed by CommonSpirit (CHI / Dignity) in any status within the past year
  • Up to 7 days of requested time off will be considered if presented upfront; additional requests are not permitted
  • Fit testing is mandatory and successful completion is required for continued employment

    • \n \n Requirements\n

  • Active ND or compact (NLC) RN license required at time of consideration
  • Required certifications : BLS, ACLS, and PALS, all active upon consideration
  • Minimum two years of recent Operating Room RN experience required
  • Must have recent experience in orthopedic, gynecologic, and general surgery
  • Previous travel nursing experience in the OR is required
  • Experience with Meditech EMR preferred
  • Must pass fit testing; inability to remove facial hair may result in contract cancellation
  • Submission must include a copy of driver's license
  • Two professional references : one supervisor from the past 12 months and another peer or supervisor from the past three years
