DSHS BHA Registered Nurse 3 - Informatics Nurse Specialist
This specialized / expert clinician is responsible for the assessment, planning, training, implementation, evaluation, and optimization of nursing informatics projects. Serves as the primary interface between the Behavioral Health Administration's (BHA) 24 / 7 staff and IT staff to ensure cross-administration, multi-disciplinary project coordination. Participates in communications and project planning regarding system implementation and integration with other BHA and IT / TIA initiatives. Plans and implements nursing informatics projects using evidence-based practices for planning, understanding, guiding, and delivering responsible nursing care.

Some of what you'll do :
- Support nursing and treatment teams’ decision-making to reach goals by integrating nursing science with available information science modalities.
- Identify issues in current processes to design, develop, and implement technology-based solutions in clinical, administrative, and educational domains.
- Lead in the design and promotion of useful, innovative information technology.
- Support nursing to develop a data information knowledge-wisdom continuum by facilitating access to information systems and decision support systems.
- Monitor the creation, structure, storage, delivery, exchange, interoperability, and reuse of nursing and clinical information along the continuum of care.
- Evaluate applications and technologies to ensure safety, quality, effectiveness, efficiency, and usability.
- Foster inter-professional collaboration in designing, developing, and implementing technology.
- Assess interaction between workflows and informatics solutions to reduce inefficiencies and improve safety.
- Assessment, planning, training, implementation, evaluation, and optimization of general nursing practice projects.
- Develop and deploy education to support informatics projects and implementation.
- Review technology use patterns, confer with BHA program directors and nursing leadership regarding staff educational needs to plan and conduct targeted training initiatives.
Who should apply?
Licensed Registered Nurses in the State of Washington, with a degree from an accredited school of professional nursing AND at least two years of professional nursing experience;
OR
Professionals with equivalent education and experience.
Please note : experience with Informatics Nursing, as well as certification in Informatics Nursing through the ANCC is required.
What we're looking for :
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or equivalent education / experience preferred.Strong knowledge, understanding and experience surrounding Informatics Nursing.Practical psychiatric nursing, Clinical Risk Management, and Root Cause Analysis experience are preferred, but not required.Strong leadership skills, with preference for candidates who have one year of supervisory experience in nursing.Excellent communication and writing skills, with the ability to engage effectively with management, peers, clients, and the public.Proficiency in office equipment and software programs.Individuals living with or in recovery from mental illness are encouraged to apply.Additional Information :
