SIH is looking for a 2025 available Pulmonary / Critical Care Physician to join our team.

Good mix of Pulmonology AND Critical Care

Our Pulmonary / Critical Care providers believe that communication between the provider and the patient allows them to provide a better quality of life and puts them at ease.

Join an established, collaborative practice of providers, support staff (including a dedicated lung educator), and even assist with developing a lung cancer screening program at our state-of-the-art Cancer Institute. Cover the ICUs at our two largest hospitals, Memorial Hospital of Carbondale (21-bed open ICU) and Herrin Hospital (8-bed open ICU), which are only 15 miles apart.

Memorial Hospital of Carbondale

With 162 acute care beds, Memorial Hospital serves as the areas regional referral center. Memorial specializes in obstetrics and tertiary services such as vascular, neurology, oncology and cardiology. Other features include :

  • 36,000 ED encounters annually
  • 24-hour Hospitalist program
  • Imaging center includes 128 Slice CT, 3T MRI, PET / CT, and ACR-certified ultrasound services
  • 10 suite modern surgical center with da Vinci Xi
  • Sub-specialty support including Hematology / Oncology, Cardiothoracic Surgery and Interventional Radiology
  • Commission on Cancer accredited program
  • Partnership with Prairie Cardiovascular

    Herrin Hospital lies about ten miles to the east of Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. It hosts 114 beds and serves as our systems center for Rehabilitation Services, Bariatric Surgery, and the Bone and Joint Institute for the system. Other features include :
