Health and Nutrition Coordinator Job Summary :

As a member of the Health and Nutrition Services (HNS) department, the Health and Nutrition Coordinator (HNC) manages the HNS Services for one "Cluster" comprised of 8 to 10 centers, representing 500-600 families.

The HNC develops, implements, and administers research-based systems, policies and procedures aligned with the Child-Parent Centers (CPC) philosophy and curriculum approach, and that comply with the regulatory requirements of the Office of Head Start (OHS), the Arizona Department of Human Services (ADHS), Arizona Bureau of Child Care Licensing (BCCL) and incorporate best practice principles.

Responsibilities include :

• Developing policies and procedures to ensure the Health and Nutrition Services Department provides high-quality health services that meet the needs of children and families.
• Providing ongoing health and safety trainings to ensure children and staff are kept safe at all times.
• Providing direct services for children and staff at centers, including conducting blood lead and / or anemia screenings on children as needed.
• Determining and creating appropriate accommodation plans for individual child special health needs.
• Serving as liaison between medical providers and families in obtaining services and ensuring proper documentation of services provided.
