Responsibilities

  • Evaluate Current Payroll System : Assess the structure, functionality, and performance of the existing payroll system, identifying any gaps, inefficiencies, or areas for improvement.
  • Compliance Review : Ensure the system is fully compliant with local, state, and federal payroll regulations, including tax withholdings, deductions, benefits, and reporting requirements.
  • Identify System Optimization Opportunities : Analyze the workflow and processes to recommend system upgrades, automation opportunities, or process changes to streamline payroll operations.
  • Data Integrity Check : Review data accuracy and completeness within the payroll system, addressing any discrepancies or errors.
  • Report Findings and Recommendations : Provide a detailed report on findings, including potential risks, areas of non-compliance, and suggestions for improvement. Present recommendations on any system enhancements, tools, or integrations that could increase efficiency.
  • Liaise with Internal Teams : Work closely with HR, Finance, and IT teams to understand payroll-related needs and constraints, ensuring any proposed solutions are feasible and align with organizational goals.
  • Provide Guidance on Implementation : If applicable, provide advice or strategic direction for the implementation of new systems or processes following the assessment.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a payroll consultant or in a similar payroll systems assessment role.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems, payroll processing, tax regulations, and labor laws.
  • Familiarity with various payroll platforms such as ADP, Workday, UKG, etc.
  • Ability to quickly understand and assess complex payroll systems and processes.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.

    • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a short-term project environment.
