Clinical and Simulation Trainer
POSITION SUMMARY / RESPONSIBILITIES
Cooperatively assesses, plans, organizes, facilitates / teaches, and evaluates assigned UH staff education programs, with a focus on increasing staff competence. Coordinates learning opportunities within UH and with outside institutions. Provides advanced professional skills in the administration, development, coordination, production, and presentation of continuing education programs using multi-media techniques. Responsibilities will also support quality improvement processes and Magnet. Coordinates with department educators to identify dates, secure venues, audiovisual and other necessary equipment for classes / simulation. Supports systemized and structured training and education activities for UH employees and affiliates. Conducts inventory and orders routine supplies. Conducts routine inspection of equipment to assure proper operating condition. Performs maintenance and repair on equipment. Identifies malfunctioning equipment and reports to appropriate department. Tracks equipment out for repair to assure rapid turnaround.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Associates degree required (applied science, nursing, healthcare) Bachelors degree preferred. Must have 2 years of clinical knowledge and experience in a healthcare related field. 4 years of experience in healthcare training is preferred. Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, graphics software) and willingness to learn and develop additional computer skills and ability to quickly learn additional software programs including audio visual and simulation equipment. Excellent English grammar, punctuation, and spelling is required. Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to details required.
