POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES :

The University Athletic Association at the University of Florida is searching for an Assistant Director to develop the communication plan and public relations initiatives for Women's Basketball and Women's Tennis at the University of Florida. This position assists the Marketing & Promotions department with promotional aspects of assigned sport(s). Works collaboratively with other members of the Communications department, Marketing & Promotions, and Creative Services on the editorial content for the FloridaGators.com and related social media outlets.

This position requires the incumbent to have strong communication (written, verbal and interpersonal), customer service skills, and innovative creative writing skills; be organized, detail-oriented, and flexible; work independently and as part of a collaborative team; develop, prioritize, execute, and follow through on strategic plans; exercise discretion and good judgement while making decisions relevant to the UAA; engage effectively with others of diverse cultures or backgrounds; and work a non-standard work week which will include evenings, weekends, and holidays, and extensive overnight travel.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field
  • Two years of related professional experience
  • Knowledgeable of various communication platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Design Suite

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience working in an intercollegiate or professional athletics environment
