Provides a variety of routine care-giving functions in giving direct and indirect care to residents. OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Class I.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Provides resident care services.
- Assists residents with activities of daily living (dressing, grooming, bathing, toileting, assisting with meals and menus) according to their service plan.
- Reacts calmly in emergency situations and follows appropriate procedures by notifying on-call staff, physician, family / responsible party, contacting services required for care.
- Accurately fills out incident reports and notifies physician and responsible party and follows-up on final disposition of incident reports.
- Accurately documents on all forms and in charts an issue that arise with residents.
- Provides housekeeping and laundry services.
- Cleans all surfaces thoroughly in each resident apartment and facility according to schedule.
- Reports items in need of repair to maintenance and manager.
- Uses chemicals properly and safely.
- Maintains inventory of supplies and notifies manager when items are needed. Documents housekeeping duties on appropriate form.
- Sorts laundry to prevent damage.
- Washes clothing and linen in proper chemicals and cold temperatures.
- Makes residents' beds as requested. Provides transportation for residents to doctor appointments, shopping and other services.
- Assists with activities as directed by manager.
- Maintains confidentiality while working with confidential matters on a daily basis.
- Provides service direct to residents while maintaining a positive resident relations atmosphere.
- Interacts with medical staff members on a continuous basis.
- Follows safety guidelines and policies for Assisted Living facility and entire Hospital District.
Job Qualifications
Education : High school graduate or equivalent.Job Related Skills : Ability to read and write required. Effective oral and written communication skills, the ability to comprehend and follow verbal or written instructions, and a knowledge of residents' rights.Licensure, Registry or Certification : None required.Experience : One-year experience in a medical setting preferred. Current CPR within 3 months of hire date.Physical and Mental Requirements : Duties of the position require extended periods of standing and walking. Bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Occasional heavy lifting when moving or supporting residents who may suddenly become weak or helpless.
