Overview
The Closing Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the accurate and compliant preparation of loan documents and the smooth execution of the closing and funding process. The role involves overseeing workflow within the loan origination system, creating job aids, and training team members to maintain efficiency and consistency. A strong understanding of mortgage documents, regulatory requirements, and investor guidelines is essential. This role is ideal for someone who excels in compliance, process management, and leading teams to deliver error-free loan closings.
Responsibilities
- Manage the daily workflow of Closers by assigning loans, monitoring productivity, and ensuring timely closings and fundings.
- Analyze loan origination system reports to track performance, identify trends, and improve efficiency.
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for all aspects of Closing and Funding, addressing questions and resolving issues for internal and external stakeholders.
- Partner with the training team to develop job aids and provide training for new employees on closing and funding processes within the loan origination system.
- Review and analyze CD cures and curtailments requested by closers, processors, compliance, and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with post-closing managers to resolve issues identified with closed loans.
- Proactively identify and eliminate errors that cause late funding, coordinating with stakeholders to implement solutions.
- Work closely with title companies and settlement agents to manage escalations, review funding documents, and ensure corrections are made before wire approval.
- Forecast daily funding volumes to achieve monthly production goals.
- Coordinate with title vendors to ensure timely closings and disbursement of company funds.
- Approve wire transfers and coordinate with Bayview Asset Management's corporate funding team on loan funding and rescission requests.
- Respond to audit requests (Internal Audit, QA, QC, and monthly audits) at the loan level.
- Oversee timekeeping, performance management, and reviews for direct reports.
- Lead the resolution of failed fundings and closings.
- Provide after-hours support, as needed, to processors, notaries, and other stakeholders.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
